The Gatherings in Biosemiotics started in 2001, in Copenhagen, under the organization of Jesper Hoffmeyer. Celebrated annually, it brings together the biosemiotic community, from its founders to young scholars, in a dialogue on the theory, history, and developments of biosemiotics.
